The Spirit Worm - A Monster for Dungeon World

Druids are familiar with the spirits of animals that roam the Spirit Realm, as they call upon them to grant them their shapeshifting powers. Planar Freebooters may spend time in the Spirit Realm, bargaining with spirits for power or knowledge. Everything that exists in the Physical Realm has a single representative in the Spirit Realm. However, these are not the only denizens of that plane.

Spirit Worms leech energy from those who do not belong in the Spirit Realm. Anyone who ends up trapped in the Spirit Realm risks being trapped there, their tie to the Physical Realm gnawed undone by these Worms. These Worms have a quasi-symbiotic relationship with some of the darker spirits in the Spirit Realm, such as Plague, Death, or the inscrutable spirit of Ill-Fortune, all of whom would seek to eradicate invaders to their realm.
